How do I sign up for an experiment?

Step 1. Navigate to the Student Sign-Up page

Signing up is a two-step process. From the homepage, click on the SIGN UP FOR AN EXPERIMENT link. This will take you to the first Student Sign-Up page.

Step 2. Choose the experiment you want to sign up for

The first page consists of a drop-down list of experiments. Beneath this list are the details pertaining to the selected experiment. Once you select an experiment from the list, details about it will appear beneath the list. When you find an experiment you are interested in participating in, click the CONTINUE button below and procede to the second Student Sign-Up page.

Step 3. Enter personal information and contact information

The second Student Sign-Up page contains fields for personal information and contact information. Please make sure to fill these out. You must include at least your name, email, and phone number. It is also a good idea to include as many of the other fields as possible to help the experimenter.

Below these fields is a description of the experiment you have chosen to sign up for. Be sure this experiment is the one you want to sign up for. If it is not, press the BACK button on your browser and choose the correct experiment. If it is correct, then click the SIGN UP! button.

Step 4. Confirmation

Once you have pressed the SIGN UP! button, the database will send out two emails: one to you, the participant in the experiment, and one to the experimenter, to alert him or her that you have signed up. Both emails should contain details about the experiment, and contact information for both you and the experimenter. Allow at least an hour for receipt of the email.

Your selection will also be recorded in the database as a backup.
